Coming Soon! WOTW -Gettysburg
It is Here!
A Blog Site Created Just for Gettysburg, PA
-Adams County-Professional Women
Our mission is to build this blog to support your (WOTW)networking needs
Hello, I tried to post once, but not sure it came through; forgive me if this is duplicated. I stumbled upon your blog completely by accident and have to say I am very excited to have found you. It has been my dream to have a brick and mortar community center here in Biglerville, but due to the unforeseen circumstances with the economy I am unable to realize my dream at this time. So, I have launched a sort of "online" community center which I hope will offer resources, events and activities to all residents and visitors of Gettysburg and surrounding areas. I would love some feedback, suggestions or input on what you would like to see. I am in the infancy stage and am very excited about all the possibities out there. Thanks for all you are doing-what a wonderful venue! I look forward to speaking with you soon! Andi civilgirl.com
It saddens me to inform you that I will no larger be organizing the Women On Their Way -Gettysburg Network, as I have accepted a new position in Baltimore, and will be leaving the Wyndham and Gettysburg on November 18, 2011.
It seems like just yesterday, we had our first mixer - that was January 22, 2009. I was very nervous, not knowing how many of you would attend and how you would respond. My nerves were quickly put to ease - you came and you were wonderful!
I started this group not knowing how it would grow, I just knew that it would and now I must past the torch on to YOU to keep it going.
I learned a new Portuguese word from a new friend (Betty A;) it's "Saudades" - she described my feelings as bitter sweet.
If you have an Event/Program in which you would like to invite WOTW to, please send Angie Kemp (akemp@wymdham.com) your information. Information is subject to approval and space availability.
On June 1, 2011 the New Women On Their Way -Gettysburg Network Advisory Board held their first meeting and it was GREAT!
The Board will consist of 7 - 9 Women (Local by residence/profession)
We will meet prior to the Mixer Meetings, with the exception of the next 3 months - to organize.
(3) Women have committed to serve for 2 years to maintain a smooth transitions.
The Advisory Board will research, plan, enlist the assistance of others/committees and execute activities that will focus on the needs and interests of the attendees.
Meet Our new Board Members and the committees that they will be developing;
Karen Adams, Going Postal (Greeters/Welcome)
Carol Burns, Wyndham & POWER (Mixer, Speaker/Program & Communications)
This Board will need all of your support, as we have created committees to expedite and manage responsibilities as efficiently as possible. If you are interested in serving on any of the Committees please contact the Board member - as noted above.
The Board has already developed a new opportunity - Get Acquainted Sponsors.
This year for $50 a Sponsor will have the opportunity to Greet Attendees, (2) Free Admissions to the Mixer, provide a 5 minute Welcome/Commercial, a Display table at that Mixer, a Sponsor listing on the Blogspot Invite, and on the Agenda for the Mixer. WOTW this is a WOW - Kind of Deal!
Sponsorship funds will assist in developing and maintaining a Network Directory, along with supporting the needs of our group.
Take a look - we arranged for Brenner Accounting Services to be the first.
In closing, A Save-The-Date will follow with future Mixer dates to lock down. We look forward to a new and interesting year of events and we look forward to seeing you.
What a wonderful event. Thanks for organizing such a positive and beneficial evening. I am looking forward to attending many more events and mixers.
