Women on Their Way -Gettysburg Network ask that you SUPPORT OUR TROOPS on MAY 22ND... This is not in lieu of our mixer, because without our Troops - there would be no mixer!
Please join us on May 22nd in the Pavilion at Battlefield Harley-Davidson of Gettysburg, Pa. from 1pm to 3pm for the 4th Annual Support Our Troops Day, an uplifting afternoon of presentations and entertainment to show support for our troops that are currently serving and honor those who have served our country to preserve our freedom.
Special Guest Speaker
Mr. Albert Snyder
Mr. Snyder is the father of Marine Lance Cpl. Matthew A. Snyder who was killed in Iraq March 3, 2006. The Westboro Baptist Church, an anti-gay group based in Topeka, Kansas picketed his funeral bearing signs that read “God hates the USA”.
Mr. Snyder sued the church for infliction of emotional distress, and won an $11 million judgment in 2007. Snyder’s judgment was reduced and overturned on appeal, with a decision upholding the Westboro’s group right to free speech.
Recently the 4th US Circuit Court of Appeals ordered Mr. Snyder to pay $16,510.80 of the Westboro Church’s legal fees.
Donations will be accepted during the event to help Mr. Snyder raise $20,000 to file a Supreme Court brief.
The event begins at 1pm with the arrival of the Mason Dixon Chapter of ABATE Color Guard. The Award Winning Chesapeake Harmony Choir will perform a special military medley and there will be presentations and entertainment throughout the afternoon.
We will also be collecting items for the troops – phone cards, powdered juice drinks,
I Tunes cards, AA and AAA batteries, playing cards, sun screen, shower gel, toothpaste and current magazines.
Please contact Meredith or Melissa at the dealership bfharley@bfharley.com or if your group would like to make a presentation.
